Due to a fire at City Hall, we are operating out of the Veterans Memorial Community Center across the road from City Hall. A drop box for payments and other documents for City Hall is located around the circle drive in front of the building.
A Welcome Message from the Mayor
On behalf of the Burkesville City Council and the more than 40 employees of the City of Burkesville, I would like to welcome you to the City of Burkesville.
The City of Burkesville is a Home Rule city with a mayor-council form of government. The city was founded in 1810, and incorporated in 1846, and is governed by a Mayor and six Council members. The city’s current population is 1,570.
Burkesville is home to several annual events sponsored by the Burkesville/Cumberland County Chamber of Commerce. Those events include:
- European Rider’s Rally
- Annual Fourth of July Celebration
- The Mighty Cumberland River Run
- River Festivus
- Bluegrass Festival
- Southern Kentucky Softball Tournament
- Steelhorse Stampede
- Annual Christmas Parade
